It’s not just two deep water berths and a wide range of cargo handling services that we offer. Our experienced team can also provide your business with warehousing, freight forwarding and access to scheduled container services on a standalone basis.

We’re also going to be part of Solent Freeport, which could offer a wide range of potential benefits for you and your business.

Scheduled container services

We can already move your containers to the Port of Antwerp in Belgium via our weekly AEL service. The journey from Portsmouth to Antwerp takes just 15 hours on average. Antwerp offers multi-modal links; containers can be moved on by rail, road or river.

We also offer a regular container service to the Channel Islands operated by Ferryspeed, alongside weekly services to the Caribbean through Geest Line, and West Africa via AEL.

Freight forwarding

Freight forwarders specialise in overseeing the transportation of your goods on your behalf. We don’t transport cargo ourselves, instead we negotiate reduced rates with carriers, sort the paperwork, and keep an eye on the shipment to ensure a smooth, successful delivery.

Portico’s freight forwarding team can offer the best shipping solutions, along with support and advice.

Our terminal is home to state-of-the-art temperature controlled warehousing facilities. Our warehouses have the ability to store a variety of fresh produce at varying degrees, at the same time. We’ve also got space for general cargo that doesn’t require temperature control.

Solent Freeport

We are delighted that the Solent Freeport proposal has been given approval to go ahead.

This is much-wanted news for the region as it provides opportunities for job creation through encouraging businesses to develop and grow.
