The south coast’s leading fresh produce port, Portico, have been nominated for the FPC Fresh Awards ‘Business Service Partner’ award. FPC is the UK’s fresh produce trade association and is widely recognised as the voice of the UK industry.
A deep-sea port, based in Portsmouth with excellent transport links by road, rail and sea, Portico has recently secured £15m worth of investment over the next 10 years, which will drive forward plans to modernise and improve the business.
Steve Williams, Portico’s operations director said: “We have been through significant change as an organisation, and now have a real opportunity to become a leading player in the shipping industry.
“Our considerable experience in handling fresh produce is an integral part of that plan, so we are delighted that we’ve been recognised by the industry with this nomination”.
The awards ceremony will take place at The Pavilion at the Tower of London on the 6th June. More information is available at fpcfreshawards.co.uk
